The City on a Plate - Dubai by notNeutral
One of eight featured cities chosen by the notNeutral design team for their reputations as gateways, and for the way each is dealing with the effects of agglomeration as its population begins to reach critical mass. These porcelain plates measure 12” across, with each city’s downtown core printed on a black background. Key buildings are represented with orange icons, while rivers and public spaces are shown in blue and green.
The plates’ designs portray a bold, graphic representation of eight distinctly fascinating cities. One of the four new cities added on to the City Plate Collection, Dubai is directly situated within the Arabian Desert and bordered on the west by the Persian Gulf. Dubai Creek runs through the city towards the world's largest man-made harbor - Jebel Ali. With an economy built on revenues from oil and natural gas and its continuous economic growth, Dubai has developed into a modern metropolis and has become a center for service and tourism-oriented business. Characterized by the unique architectural marvels and landmarks including the world famous Burj Al-Arab, Dubai is a popular tourist destination.
