Corinne Dean has been drawing and making “things” as far back as she can remember. She was born, and raised in Cincinnati, OH. In this same city she went on to study at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.

Fairytales, and storybooks have been one of the biggest influences on Corinne, since childhood, “ Before I could read these books to myself, I would look through them and find the illustrations and stare at them for hours. I would make up my own stories. I still do this, I live in my head a lot.”

In her paintings, color is a character, as well as the houses and trees and leaves, “These are stories I do not know the beginning or end to. I am attracted to this one scene, of houses huddled together or growing on trees or these red doors, and this is what makes me want to find out the rest of the story.” Corinne always has her sketchbook nearby, whatever medium the final piece is, it was usually informed by a sketch or drawing from her endless pile of notebooks.

Corinne now resides in Chicago, IL with her husband, little daughter and little dog in their little house. She is happy to make things, and so happy and honored to have come across people who enjoy the things she makes. Corinne draws something or other, about every day, and would be perfectly content, if she could keep this up, for as long as she can.
