Laura George is an artist and illustrator based in Chicago, Illinois. She started drawing because it made her feel good. It is still working.

Working primarily with gouache and ink, her art is currently centered around dreamlike lands full of creatures, animals, and kindly humans. Illustrative in nature with tendencies towards the surreal, her work focuses on the connections of these characters to each other and their environment, finding novelty in everyday life, and opening up to unlikely companions & fantastic situations.

She also likes to draw patterns.

Laura has shown her work in group & solo showings around the US & Canada, and does illustration work for magazines, bands, authors, and publishing companies, as well as private commissions.

When she’s not painting or drawing, Laura spends her time on coffee, her guitar, reading, traveling, and taking pictures.
