molo was formed in 2003 as the global vehicle to manufacture, distribute, and market the award winning product design work of Stephanie Forsythe and Todd MacAllen, of Forsythe + MacAllen Design. The philosophy behind the product design work of Forsythe and MacAllen is the same as that behind their work in architecture, with one simply being an extension of the other. In fact, molo is an acronym for “middle ones, little ones”, reflecting only the scale difference in product design, as compared to the “big ones” of their buildings and structures.
molo has a number of products in its current portfolio which have already won international design awards, and publication in fine design books and journals around the world. molo's first production pieces were the float tea lantern and float tea cups. These signature pieces are exemplary of the thoughtful design, innovative use of material, and skillful manufacturing that are inherent in, and fundamental to molo’s product portfolio.
