Chad Merritt is a Louisiana based artist who creates papercuts under the moniker of Mon Petit Fantome. Chad’s papecuts feature animals and people on equal footing. They are sweet, with a spooky, dark edge, and have an air of melancholy about them. Chad creates images of animals in human roles and people being the ones needing care or saving. Chad hopes that his silhouetted papercuts invoke feelings and an atmosphere for their viewers…making little stories in their minds. Chad also works on creating a dreamy atmosphere with his band, St. Mary’s.
