What is The Best Bagged Vacuum Cleaners?
It is time to start reading, what is probably the most important part of this article - the reviews. I promise to you that I haven’t left any important part behind and tried to describe in the best way I could how these vacuum cleaners function.
1. Miele Grey Classic C1 Vacuum Cleaner
There were many competitors for the number one in by best bagged vacuum cleaners list, but in the end, nobody can compete with Miele when it comes to results. And when you find a model from them that also doesn't come at a crazy price, then you should immediately jump on it.
First of all, this model has a great floor head that is a combination between of what you need for hardwood floors and carpets. This way it offers great results regardless of the surface. However, another reason for its versatility is given by the fact that it has 6 levels of suction power.
It is very lightweight and easy to maneuver, so you will be able to move it around the house and dragging it along without any problem.
When it comes to filtration, it has what is called an AirClean System that guarantees a maximum filtration.
- Very good results;
- Extremely versatile;
- Good price for a Miele model;
- Amazing warranty.
- Not the best for thick carpets.
What is there not to love about Miele? Well, except its price. But since this model is not crazy expensive, it immediately made me fall in love with it.
However, speaking of crazy, it does have a crazy warranty. It comes with a 7 years warranty for its motor and casing. If you are not impressed, let me tell you it is a lot. Most people change at least 2 vacuum cleaners in this period.
To see how this model can be assembled and also to find more details, check out the video below:
2. Miele Dynamic U1 Vacuum Cleaner
Since I had such a hard time to pick my number one, I've chosen as my number two another model from Miele.
This one is not so price-affordable as the first one and this is why it lost a lot of points. However, it does have some great features, so let's discuss then all.
So, the Dynamic U1 from Miele has a very powerful 1200W Vortex Motor, making it suitable for all kinds of surfaces. Another plus for this aspect is that it actually has a separate motor that powers the brush roll. You just have to turn the brush roll off when you need to work on sensible flooring.
For the filtration system, it has HEPA filters that will keep out 99.99% of the allergen particles from your house.
Another feature that is worth mentioning is its great maneuverability that is given by its Swivel Neck technology and that will permit great access around, but also underneath your furniture and hard to reach places.
- Great results;
- HEPA filters;
- Very good for pet hair;
- Very easy to use.
- It is expensive.
This is one of the best upright vacuum cleaners that I ever had the opportunity to test so far. I love how easy it is to work with it and how its extremely bright LED headlights will help you not to miss any debris from your floor.
I have tried to find a bad thing to say about it, but other than the fact that it doesn't come cheap, I can't figure out another minus.
3. Meva Canister Vacuum Cleaner
After looking at two Miele models, let's take a look at a low-budget one offered by Meva.
This compact and lightweight model, not only comes at a very good price, but it comes with a strong suction for its category.
Due to its small size, it is very easy to maneuver and also storage. It is suited for many surfaces and it makes the transition with ease. You just have to push a button.
It has a telescopic wand and a floor roller that will help you reach difficult to clean places.
When you order it, you also receive 4 dust bags, but you can always find and buy more.
- Very good price;
- Works on multiple surfaces;
- Easy to use.
- Not the best bag capacity.
I heard people complaining a lot about this model, but I cannot understand why. If you look at it as what it is, a low-budget bagged vacuum cleaner, you will be happy it is.
I mean, you cannot expect to pay 10% of what a very good model costs and for it to work the same.
So, this being said, I think that if you live in a small flat or in a dorm room and need a vacuum cleaner that is easy to storage and had a more than decent suction, you should not think twice about purchasing it.
You can watch the video below for a short presentation of this Meva model:
4. Hoover C1703900 Upright Vacuum Cleaner
(Best for Commercial Purpose)
As you could expect, I have also picked a bagged vacuum cleaner for commercial purposes. After testing multiple models, I decided that the C1703900 model from Hoover is the best one to talk about.
So, it has a technology that includes 3 air channels that lift and remove the hard embedded dirt. This is called the WindTunnel Technology.
It can be used on multiple surfaces. You just manually adjust it by picking one of the 5 heigh positions. Also, you can clean without a problem near your furniture because it won't leave any scratch.
Due to its recline handle, it is also very easy to maneuver to clean under tables or any other furniture.
- Works on multi surfaces;
- Great for embedded dirt;
- Good price.
- The belt is kind of sensitive.
I don't do commercial cleaning, so I might have different expectations than a person who does this for a living. However, I strongly think that the Hoover C1703900 vacuum cleaner is a model that you should take into consideration.
You can check out the following presentation made by Hoover and see what they have to say about their product:
5. Kenmore Elite 31150 Vacuum Cleaner
(Best for Pet Hair)
There are multiple bagged vacuum cleaners that are recommended for pet hair, but let me tell you that in all my years of testing, I don't think I have ever found a better one than the Kenmore Elite 31150.
This model has a wide sweeper path that removes everything it finds in its way. It can easily move from one surface to another one without losing its capacities.
It has a feature that will make any pet owner happy. Its roller brush spins very fast and is capable to remove any pet hair, dander or other embedded debris.
When it comes to filtration, this vacuum cleaner also is very a high-quality one. Not only does it has HEPA filters, but it has a triple system of HEPA filters that it is AAFA certified. This means that it will keep away around 99.7% of the allergens from your house.
Since it is a vacuum cleaner recommended for pet hair removal, you have to imagine that it has great suction. It actually has 20% more power than its competitors, power that it never loses.
- Amazing results for pet hair removal;
- Great HEPA filters system.;
- Big power cord;
- Wide path.
- It is a little bit heavy;
- It can be considered expensive.
I think that having the right vacuum cleaner when you have a cat or a dog is very important. I don't want to explain again how wonderful and useful I think this model is because it will just be redundant.
So, if you have a pet and are willing to pay extra for a bagged vacuum cleaner, I suggest you think twice before moving away from the Kenmore Elite 31150.

6. Hoover SH30050 Vacuum Cleaner
It is known that canister models usually produce less noise than other models. But if you want a vacuum cleaner that is truly silent then you should check out this next one.
The SH30050 from Hoover is one of a kind for many reasons, so let's take each one and discuss it.
It is very maneuverable due to its Steerable Technology that allows you to rotate and turn around furniture and other objects with a flick of your wrist.
Not only that it has 5 speed levels for the suction power, that will allow you to clean multiple surfaces with ease, but it also has the Hoover patented "WindTunnel 3 Technology" that produces 3 channels of suction that lift and remove both the surface debris and also the embedded dirt.
While using it, you don't have to worry about allergens because this vacuum cleaner is equipped with HEPA filters that will trap more than 99% of the dust and dirt.
- Extremely silent;
- Very easy to maneuver;
- It comes with many tools;
- Good price.
- It is kind of heavy.
I think that this model is the exact definition of what you see is what you get. It looks great and offers just the same quality. I don't think you can want more from a vacuum cleaner, so I say without a doubt that this is a good value for money model.
Below, I've picked a video where the guys from Hoover teach you what to do if this vacuum cleaner loses its suction. I advise you to watch it:
7. BISSELL 2154A Vacuum Cleaner
In my search for finding the best bagged vacuum cleaners, I stumble upon the 2154A model from Bissell. So what made me look deeper into its capacities is the fact that it is so lightweight and easy to maneuver.
However, its feather-like weight should not fool you. It has a very good suction that will clean your carpets and hard floors without a problem. Actually, the transition between surfaces can be done with just a flip of a switch.
Its dust bag is very easily removable so it should not cause you any problems when you need to empty the container. Also, it has filters that can be washed and reused, so you won't need to buy new ones.
This should go without saying, but I will say it nevertheless. It has an automatic feature for rewinding the cord and this can be done by simply pushing a button.
- Extremely lightweight;
- Very portable;
- Reusable filters;
- Good value for money.
- Not the best hose.
This is a classic bagged canister. Nothing more and nothing less. What it makes it stand out is its weight and the great power that comes with for such a lightweight version.
I can't say that if I had to pick an ultimate favorite this will be the one, but I do believe that for some people this vacuum cleaner will be the device of their dreams. I say this with confidence because it is cheap, easy to handle and does the job right.
8. ZeroG F3D Vacuum Cleaner
There are so many expensive vacuum cleaners out there, but unfortunately, not all of them deserve their prices. However, after testing multiple "high-class" models, I've decided to talk about the ZeroG F3D model.
First of all, it is very lightweight and powerful. The producers actually describe it as "virtually weightless" and as a "floating" vacuum cleaner.
It has a system that contains two twin motors, making it great for sucking up dirt but doing it in a very silent way.
It was designed to pull up any kind of dirt, from both hard floors and also carpets. Its turbo brush permits a great suction over carpets, wood tiles, pieces of vinyl, and tile floors, but also on commercial grade hard floors.
With its help, you can easily vacuum hard-to-reach areas.
It comes with a patented powerhead that has an Edge lift technology and comes with a non-slip cog belt, but also a surge protection and a dual-edge cleaning booster.
- Works on every kind of surface;
- It is cordless;
- Great results.
- It is expensive.
Except for its big price, there is nothing else that I can complain about regarding this vacuum cleaner. Because of this, I will only say that if you can afford it you should not think twice and buy it.
For a full presentation of its features, you can watch an original video made by ZeroG:
9. Eureka 3670G Vacuum Cleaner
(Best for Garage Use)
The next model is a small but very good canister vacuum cleaner that will make your cleaning the garage process much more easier. So, let me tell you a few things about it. First of all, the Eureka Mighty Mite 3670G has a 12-amp motor and also a big 20 feet power cord.
It is extremely lightweight and therefore portable. You will be able not only to carry it around your workshop, to easily clean your car, but you will also be able to take it with you and use it around the house.
This model has many accessories such as a deluxe floor brush, a fingertip control panel that is located on the handle, an extension wand, and also a bare floor nozzle.
- It is lightweight;
- Nice design;
- Very easy to maneuver;
- Great price.
- Not the best vacuum cleaner you want for rugs.
Depending on each one's needs, this model can be an amazing one or a very big disappointment. So, if you want to use it to clean your garage or workshop but also the front lawn, it will be your dream come true. However, if you need it to clean your house, especially your carpets and rugs you will wish to throw it off a window.

10. Soniclean Upright Vacuum Cleaner
(Best for Carpets)
This model is one of the best models I had the chance to test regardless of the type.
Yes, at first I was drawn by its looks, but how could I not when it has such an amazing design?
The good part is that the features and its capabilities are just as good as the way it looks.
It is so easy to manage and move around the house. When you use to clean the carpets it works in such a gentle way I have never seen before. Probably this is way popular brands such as Karastan or Mohawk SmartStrand encourage the use of this vac.
Moving on to its specifications, you should know that it possesses a patented cleaning technology that delivers 200 vibrations/second. This will increase its cleaning techniques.
It is very lightweight. Because of that also because it has some special front wheels, it will glide very easily.
Lastly, you will be able to clean multiple rooms while using only one power outlet because it has a very long 35 meters cord.
- Amazing design;
- HEPA filters;
- Excellent for vacuuming carpets;
- Very silent.
- It doesn’t come with attachments;
- It doesn’t come cheap.
I don't have many things to say other than the fact that if you will have the chance to use it, you won't want to vacuum your carpets with another model ever again.
And if you are not impressed with all the great features that I talked about, you should also know that this model will need 50% less power than other models when it cleans. This means that you will be able to save some electricity money.

The Good and Bad Parts of Bagged Vacuum Cleaners
It doesn't matter what type of vacuum cleaner you will wish to purchase because, at the end of the day, they all have the same good and bad parts. So, let's check them out before going to the buying guide.
The Advantages of Bagged Vacuum Cleaners
This type of vacuum cleaner is the oldest one. The whole idea of a bagged vacuum cleaner is to have a bag to deposit the dirt that is sucked in.
Usually, the bag goes into a material section that zips around it, and that can be easily detached and renewed whenever it becomes full. So, let's see what makes them to still be popular after all these years of existence.
Bagged vacuum cleaners are perceived as very hygienic, mostly because all the dirt that is vacuumed is contained inside a closed bag. In time, this process has become even more performant and now the debris along with dust and possible allergens is kept inside the bag even when you dispose of it.
This means that the new models of bagged vacuum cleaners will allow you to extract and get rid of the bag without causing a huge mess. Also, another plus is that if you have a bagged vacuum cleaner you won't have to deal with the messy filters just as often as you would when working with a bagless model.
As I started to say a little earlier, bagged vacuum cleaners require less maintenance than the bagless ones. This is true because bags are capable to hold more dirt and also because the filter is not in direct contact with the debris, so it will not need such often cleaning and replacement.
Keep in mind that what I am about to say m doesn't apply to all bagged vacuum cleaners but to most new generation ones.
This being said, most of the models are designed to come with HEPA filters that trap more than 99 percent of the allergens from your house. Vacuum cleaners that have a HEPA filtration system are very recommended for everyone, but especially to people that suffer from allergy symptoms.
You should know that HEPA filters can be met in bagless models as well, but I added as a plus for the bagged ones because they are somehow standard for the bagged units.
Are Better for People that Suffer from Allergies
Now that you know about the HEPA filters, you should also be aware that this aspect is not the only one that makes the bagged vacuum cleaners to be recommended for people that suffer from allergies.
So, not only that these vacs have great filter systems, but the bag itself also works as one and are way better is catching fine particles of dust because of their superior suction power.
The Limitations of Bagged Vacuum Cleaners
As you could see there are multiple reasons why bagged vacuum cleaners are still loved and used worldwide. However, just as in any case, there can't only good parts in a story so let's also check the bad ones. This way you will be able to form an objective opinion about these items.
Keep in mind that I will only tackle the most general ones that apply to most models, but there can be other minuses such as having trouble in finding the right bag for your old vacuum cleaner or similar things that are not very often, but that can very well occur.
Need to Pay for Maintenance
As you probably already know, the bags have to be changed every time they get full. This implies that you will need to frequently buy bags, therefore you will constantly have to spend money.
Depending on the model of your vacuum cleaner and the model of the bag, this price can be lower or not so much.
Also, you should always have a bag somewhere in the house deposited because you never know when you clean the house and the bag gets full. What will you do if you are not prepared? You cannot continue without a new replacement bag.
Suction Lose When the Bag Starts to Get Full
With every piece of debris that your vacuum cleaner sucks, a little bit of suction is lost on the way. So even if the bag is not totally full, it will still not perform as it does when the bag is empty. The bad part is that you cannot see the level of dirt from the bag and you might think that you have a motor or other technical problem.
I've seen that some models have a light that will turn on when the bag starts to get full. This way it will be easier for you to keep a track of how much more you can work until you lose all the suction.
Buying Guide - Choosing the Best Bagged Vacuum Cleaner
Choosing the best bagged vacuum cleaner for you and your needs is not an easy thing to do. Especially with all these models and offers. However, I hope that after you will read this guide, you will be one step closer to your dream device.
Canister Model or an Upright One?
As you know each type of vacuum cleaner has its pros and cons. This means that since there isn't any perfect vacuum cleaner type it is up to you to decide if you want to go with a canister or with an upright one.
I honestly believe it is mostly a matter of taste and preferences, but this decision can also be influenced by your requirements.
For example, upright models are perfect for wall-to-wall cleaning, but they tend to be a bit heavy. So this last part can be seen as an inconvenient because you have to push harder.
On the other hand, canister vacuum cleaners are more compact and lightweight and therefore easier to maneuver. However, they have a less wide action range and don't tend to come cordless.
The sad news is that at the end of the day, the money will be a very important factor when deciding to buy anything, including a vacuum cleaner.
So, look into your bank account to see how much you can afford to spend. After you do that, look only at the models that are in your affordable price range.
There is a general rule when it comes to brands that apply in every domain and not only to vacuum cleaners. People tend to stick to a brand once they find one that they appreciate.
So before anything else, check out your favorite brand. If you are willing to make a change go and look for reputable brands such as Miele or Electrolux.
I have never met a vacuum cleaner that doesn't make noise and I don't know if I will see one in this lifetime. However, some models are producing more noise than others.
Some brands offer quieter models in their offer and it is known that canister models tend to be less noisy.
However, if you have bad neighbors or a newborn, you should not buy any model before you check out the decibel levels of the vacuum cleaner.
Each vacuum cleaner model comes with its own features and it is up to you to pick the model that sums the ones that are the most important for you.
Usually, bagged models are equipped with a motorized brush but it is not a general rule. So, if it does come with this kind of brush, be sure that you can also turn it off so you can use it for hardwood and laminated floor without causing any scratches.
Another factor that you should take into consideration is the height adjustment that is available manual or automatic. It doesn't really matter if you have to push a button or not but it does matter if the vacuum cleaner can adapt to multiple levels of height. This way you will be able to clean many surfaces and not just one.
Remember that all these extra features come with a cost, so don't buy one that has them all but will take a lot of money from your wallet if you are not going to use them.
I recently mentioned that most bagged vacuum cleaners come with HEPA filters, but these can come in different forms. So I don't know if it matters too much for you, but I think that you should know about each one of them
These are disposable filters. This means that you’ll have to substitute them from time to time. However, this is not something that you should do at every cleaning. When the filter is rather new, you can just tap the dust off from the filter.
They are straightforward and are implemented with rubber casings that serve as fixing methods. Usually, these filters slide into place easily and without any force involved.
Usually, they are primary filters but can also stand as secondary ones. This depends on the vacuum cleaner model.
These filters are primary ones that usually found in portable and cordless vacuum cleaners. They can’t support too much dust and need to be emptied frequently. Even so, they tend to be more expensive than others.
The filters that are made of foam work as secondary ones because they can filter only the air that has already been isolated from the dirt.
They usually can be washed and reused, but you should check your manual and be 100% sure of this.
These filters are usually found in large machines used for commercial purposes or older models.
How to Clean your Bagged Vacuum Cleaner
If you want your vacuum cleaner to have a long life and to offer good results all this time, you will need to clean it from time to time. Luckily, this is easier than you can imagine.
The first thing that you need to do is to check if the vacuum cleaner is not connected to a power source. You should be extra careful so no electric shock accident can occur.
Once this safety measurement is done, check out the area that connects the hose with the body of the vac. There is where you will going to find the bag.
Usually, you will need to push a button to open the canister, but if you can't figure this out, you should check the manual because it will be stated there.
After you open the case, take out the bag and examine it to see if it needs changing or not. I recommend that you clean the bag even if it's only a quarter full. However, if it has more than a half of its size occupied with dirt, then you should change it.
Put in the bag (new or cleaned) and check if you have put it in correctly. Pull the bag gently to see if it is perfectly secured. With this, you have finished the bag part of the cleaning routine.
Move to the brush roll. You will most probably find it at the bottom of your vac. Again, if you are not sure, check your instruction manual.
Check out the side in which the belt is looped. You should remember this because you will have to put it back.
Carefully remove the belt and then clean the brush by using your fingers. If there are too many threads and hair fibers stuck in the brush, you can always you a pair of scissors.
You might need to lubricate the bearings, but this step is optional. Usually, you will just have to put back the brush roll.
The next step is cleaning the filters. You will find them where the air exits from the vac. Check the instructions to see if your filters are washable and reusable or not. You really don't want to ruin this.
The last thing that you have to do is to clean the hose. To do this you should wipe it down and if there is anything clogged in there, take it out but be sure that you don't pierce the house.
Great! You are all done. Put everything back together and if you haven't wash any part of it that needs to dry out, you can test and see how it works.
So, this is it. Hopefully, by now you know what type a model you need and you are ready to make a purchase. However, if you have any questions that didn’t find answers today, the comment section is always open.
